Insurance & Fees

We're in-network with major insurance providers. Most men pay $0-30 per session with insurance.

In-network with: Blue Cross Blue Shield • Aetna • UnitedHealthcare • Harvard Pilgrim • Tufts Health Plan • Cigna

What You'll Pay

With Insurance (In-Network)

$0-30 per session

Your copay or coinsurance depends on your specific insurance plan. Many clients with good insurance coverage pay little to nothing out of pocket.

We bill your insurance directly. No paperwork, no reimbursement hassles.

Self-Pay Option

$200 per session

For clients without insurance or who prefer not to use insurance for privacy reasons.

  • Complete privacy - no insurance records or diagnoses
  • No impact on background checks or security clearances
  • Payment due at time of service

Important Note:

We do not accept MassHealth plans at this time. If you have MassHealth, the self-pay rate of $200 per session would apply.

How Insurance Works

We're In-Network

As an in-network provider, we bill your insurance directly for covered services. This means you only pay your copay or coinsurance at the time of service.

Accepted Insurance Providers:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Aetna
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • Harvard Pilgrim
  • Tufts Health Plan
  • Cigna

Before your first session, we recommend calling your insurance company to verify your mental health benefits, copay amount, and whether any authorization is required.

Understanding Your Costs

Copay

A fixed amount you pay per session (e.g., $20 per session). Your insurance covers the rest.

Coinsurance

A percentage of the session cost you pay (e.g., 20% of the contracted rate). Your insurance covers the remaining percentage.

Deductible

Some plans require you to pay a certain amount out-of-pocket before insurance starts covering services. Once you meet your deductible, your copay or coinsurance applies.

Benefits of Using Insurance

  • Lower cost per session: Most clients pay $0-30 per session instead of $200
  • Direct billing: We handle all the paperwork and billing
  • Maximize your benefits: Use the coverage you're already paying for

Policies & Logistics

Cancellation Policy

We require 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice are charged the full session fee.

We understand that emergencies happen. If you have an unexpected situation, reach out—we'll work with you when we can.

Payment Methods

We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, HSA cards, and FSA cards. Payment is collected at the time of service.

We keep a card on file for scheduling purposes and charge it automatically after each session. You'll receive a receipt via email.

In-Network Provider

We are an in-network provider with major insurance companies and bill your insurance directly. You only pay your copay or coinsurance at the time of service.

Good Faith Estimate

Under federal law, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" of expected charges for therapy services. We'll provide this before or at your first session. If you have questions about your bill, you have the right to dispute it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I verify my insurance benefits?

Call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your "outpatient mental health benefits." Ask about your copay or coinsurance amount, whether you have a deductible, if there are session limits, and if prior authorization is required. We're happy to help you understand your benefits during your consultation.

Do you accept MassHealth?

We do not currently accept MassHealth plans. If you have MassHealth, you would need to use our self-pay option at $200 per session, or we can help you find a provider who accepts MassHealth.

What if my insurance isn't listed?

If your insurance provider isn't listed as one we're in-network with, you can still see us using the self-pay rate of $200 per session. Some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that may reimburse a portion of the cost - contact your insurance company to ask about out-of-network mental health benefits.

Do you offer sliding scale fees?

We have limited sliding scale spots available for clients experiencing financial hardship. If cost is a barrier, mention it during your consultation—we'll discuss options.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes. Therapy services are HSA and FSA eligible. You can use your HSA or FSA card directly for payment.

What happens if I need to cancel last minute?

If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, you'll be charged the full session fee. This policy exists because therapists reserve that time specifically for you. If there's an emergency or extenuating circumstance, reach out—we handle situations case by case.

When do I pay?

If using insurance, you pay your copay or coinsurance at the time of service. If using self-pay, the $200 session fee is due at the time of service. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, HSA cards, and FSA cards.

What if I don't want to use my insurance?

You can choose our self-pay option at $200 per session. When you pay out-of-pocket without using insurance, no information goes to your insurance company—no claims, no diagnoses, no records. Many men prefer this for complete privacy, especially in sensitive career situations or for maintaining confidentiality from employers.

Does insurance cover group therapy?

Yes, most insurance plans cover group therapy sessions. Your copay for group therapy may be different from individual therapy - check with your insurance provider for specific coverage details.
